Thandel Story
Thandel is a romantic action thriller film based on a true incident that happened in 2018. The story is about a brave fisherman named Raju, who lives in a small village near Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Fishing is not just a profession for him but a part of his life. With time he becomes the captain of his own boat, which is called “Thandel” in the local language.
Raju is in love with a girl named Sathya since childhood, whom he fondly calls “Bujji Thalli”. Sathya worries about Raju’s dangerous life at sea. She wants Raju to take up a secure job so that they can lead a peaceful life. But Raju feels attached to the sea and cannot leave it.
One day, while fishing in the sea, due to a sudden storm, their boat reaches the border of Pakistan, where they are arrested by the Pakistani security forces considering them to be spies. After this begins the story of their difficult imprisonment. The film shows how they struggle in prison and keep hope alive to return to India.
On the other hand, Satya also tries everything possible to bring Raju back. This film is not just a love story but an example of patriotism, struggle, and human spirit. Thandel teaches us that true love and hope never give up.
Movie Review
Thandel is a brilliant Telugu film that leaves a deep impact when watched without any expectations. The film makes the audience realize that when we least expect anything, it surprises and delights us the most. The entire cast and technical crew of this film deserves a big round of applause, especially the lead actors Naga Chaitanya (Chay Akkineni ji) and Sai Pallavi ji who brought their characters to life.
The real hero of the film is the music director Devi Sri Prasad (DSP). He is truly the God of music. His music touches the heart and takes the film to new heights. Especially the performance of the song “Ardhanarishwar Tandava” is unforgettable, shaking you to your core. I thought that ‘Daku Maharaj’ would have a strong mass appeal and sound effects, but Thandel gave an experience that far exceeded my expectations.
Many scenes in the film may be highlighted differently according to people, but for me the scene was when a cow is killed and the hero immediately goes into defensive and aggressive mode. Cows are considered divine in our society, so the scene was very impactful from a religious and emotional point of view.
Another scene I would like to specially mention is: “Aadavallani yedipiste gattiga kottestadi, dadda”. It means – never make a woman cry, especially the one you love the most. This role was made for Sai Pallavi. She will always be remembered as a devoted and loyal lover. The hero’s love expression by saying “Naa Bujji Thalli ❤️” makes the audience emotional.
On the other hand, Prajwal V, a viewer, says that his favourite character in the film was the boy who wants to marry Sathya (Sai Pallavi), and a child artiste. He said that he saw a reflection of himself in the boy. Such stories are very real and relatable.
The twist in the film makes the second half strong and the climax is really amazing. This film is worth watching once. Filled with love, struggle, patriotism and sacrifice, this film will be a very special experience to watch with your partner on Valentine’s Day.
Thandel means leader, and this film truly leaves a leadership impact as per its name.
